I probably should be sleeping

Can't sleep with such a big change to talk about. Presenting... Gem Crawl v1.5, aka Crawl!

  • Changed the name of the game to "Crawl"
    • To roughly quote Justin Timberlake in that Facebook movie, "Drop the thing, it's cleaner" or something like that.
    • Shoutout to RED1 from the discord for inspiring the change and convincing me that a single word name is just better.
    • Went with "Crawl" because A) That's figuratively what you're doing in the game anyways. Crawlers be crawlin'.  And B) It fits with the existing language I'm using within the instructions.

  • Added a "STARTING A NEW ROUND" section header
    • This breaks up the gameplay instructions better into more coherent chunks.
    • This section now present the steps in an ordered list.

  • Reworded the end game conditions
    • They should be much clearer now and cover each possible scenario.
    • In the process of this change I have simplified the joker bit at the end of the newly defined "STARTING A NEW ROUND" section.
    • End game conditions now cover when the deck runs out of cards, essentially representing the players completed the figurative dungeon.

  • Finally put my name on it
    • It's on the VERY bottom in teeny tiny grey writing.
    • Complete with clarification that the game is licensed under Creative Commons.

Still gonna try get more playtesting done in an effort to find anymore potential issues with wording and such but I really think I feel happy enough to call this basically finished. It's at the stage where I built a table setup for it in Tabletop Simulator and I'm just playing it solo to wind-down and try beat my highscore. It is currently 17 and now the question is... Do I Crawl... or do I sleep?

In case this ends up being the last update before the jam is over, I wanna say thank you to anyone who cared enough to follow this devlog and/or gave Crawl a go.

P.S. 8 pages? Pfft, I'll do it in 1! *dab*

P.P.S. [This developer has "fallen" into a pit of 2d8 stingbats as punishment for dabbing]
