Tweaking House Rules


Hey all,

Sorry to come in with another update so soon after the last one but made a few changes and one addition that I am pretty happy with so I figured I'll put it up.

Changes

  • New house rule
    • Fortunate - makes it so sacrificing gems is more forgiving.
    • Did this because I noticed there was a house rule touching on every other action in the game so felt sacrifice should have one too.
    • Tempted to have this apply to all instances of gems like when starting a crawl so you only miss out on gems when you lose.
      • The reason why I would be conflicted on this one is because it is intended that not all dungeons possess the same gems.
      • Feel free to playtest this house rule to work this way and please let me know how it feels for you in the comments of this devlog.
  • Fixed font boldness on Fight action
    • The difference between "bold" and "extra bold" matters to me, ok!
  • Simplified Aces house rule
    • Making the ace value increase to 11 now applies to both black aces, not just the ace of spades.
      • Doesn't matter how good the song I tried to reference is, this made more sense!
    • Also decided it was just more fluid to not have the red ace save count as an action given that it affects the action economy anyways.
  • Added clarification to Hunter house rule.
    • Just had to make sure that people knew the Joker doesn't ever get discarded.
      • Thus my way of doing that was to explicitly reference the Fight action.


That is all. Thanks for playing and helping this game reach over 600 downloads. It's not as impressive as it sounds considering all the different iterations but still, seeing the number go up gives me the feel good chemicals.
